The East African region faces a significant surgical disease burden, but lacks a dedicated anesthesia journal to share research and innovations. To address this, the Ethiopian Association of Anesthetists has established the Ethiopian Journal of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine (EAJAPM).

EAJAPM is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that aims to promote anesthesia practice and development in Ethiopia and the broader East African region. It will provide a platform for healthcare professionals to publish original research, reviews, and case reports, facilitating knowledge exchange and capacity building.

The journal's manuscript guidelines will ensure quality and consistency in submissions. By documenting and disseminating expertise, EAJAPM seeks to enhance anesthesia care and improve patient outcomes in the region.
