The EAst African Journal of Anesthesia and perioperative Medicine (EAJAPM); EAJAPM/ISSN: an official journal of the Ethiopian Anesthetists' Association (EAA), is an English-language, peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles in the fields of anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine. EAJAPM aims to publish high-quality clinical and scientific research on all aspects of anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine. The journal's regional focus is mainly East Africa, but it also welcomes submissions from researchers all over the world. 

By providing a forum for exchanging ideas and disseminating knowledge, the EAJAPM will help strengthen the capacity of anesthetists and other healthcare professionals in the region, and enhance the quality of anesthesia care by uplifting scientific evidence-based care.

The EAJAPM seeks to publish original research articles, review articles, case reports, and other scholarly works related to anesthesia, critical care, pain management, and perioperative medicine. 

Aims

  • To promote the practice and development of anesthesia and related fields in Ethiopia and the wider East African region. Hence providing a platform for anesthetists, researchers, and other healthcare professionals in the region to share their experiences and research findings, discuss emerging trends and issues in the field, and contribute to the development of anesthesia practice and policy in Ethiopia.
  • To establish a trusted resource for anesthetists and other healthcare professionals by attracting submissions from local and international authors, providing a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange between health professionals across the globe.
  • To contribute to the advancement of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine in Ethiopia and the wider East African region, and to improve the health and wellbeing of the populations served by anesthesia professionals in the region.

 Scope

The East African Journal of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine (EAJAPM) aims to promote scholarly debate and best practices in the conduct and reporting of research in anesthesia, perioperative medicine, and clinical care. In addition to original research articles, the journal welcomes submissions of case reports, case series, systematic reviews, clinical trials, methodological articles, book reviews, synopses of major research findings, short communications, and commentaries on published articles. EAJAPM is committed to ensuring the quality of its publications through a rigorous double peer-review process and timely publication of accepted manuscripts.

EAJAPM accepts manuscripts that explore the intersection between anesthesia, perioperative medicine, public health, clinical medicine, and biomedical sciences. The journal encourages submissions in areas such as pain management, intensive care and critical care medicine, perioperative patient safety and quality improvement, medical education and training in anesthesia and perioperative medicine, research methodology, and clinical trials in anesthesia and perioperative medicine. The journal seeks to promote innovative techniques, emerging technologies, and best practices in anesthesia and perioperative medicine to improve patient outcomes and advance the field. EAJAPM aims to become a reputable source of high-quality research and knowledge in anesthesia and perioperative medicine in Ethiopia and the broader East African region.
